Kari Traa’s story began in the mountains of Voss, Norway, where our Founder and namesake grew up playing outside, learning to have fun and eventually becoming a three-time Olympic skiing champion.
While competing, Kari began knitting and crocheting her own colorful beanies—- because the product available to female athletes at that time simply wasn’t designed with women in mind. What started as a creative outlet quickly became a business, and ultimately, a brand built around her bold personality, love of the outdoors, and belief that women deserve performance gear made specifically for them.
